Dr. Mini Joseph
Dr. Mini Joseph holds an MSc in Food Science & Nutrition from Kerala Agricultural University and a PhD in Home Science from Kerala University, where she focused her thesis on the “Nutritional profile of sportspersons.” She also completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship supported by the UGC, studying “Lean Diabetes” from 2015 to 2017 at CMC Vellore.
She has a diverse career that includes both academia and clinical practice. Dr. Joseph currently serves as an Associate Professor at the Government College for Women, Kerala, a position she has held since 2006. She previously worked in academic roles in Food & Nutrition at Abertay University, Scotland, and gained clinical experience as a dietitian at Cumberland Centre and New Children’s Hospital in Sydney, Australia, from 1999 to 2006.
Dr. Joseph also served as a clinical nutritionist at KIMS, Trivandrum, and as an Assistant Dietitian at Christian Medical College, Tamil Nadu. Over the years, she has received numerous accolades, including the UGC Research Award for Teachers for her post-doctoral research and the Young Scientist’s Senior Award in Community Nutrition from the Nutrition Society of India.
She earned the Best Oral Presentation Award at the National Conference on Perinatal and Paediatric Nutrition and First Prize for Oral Presentation at the International Conference on Sports and Nutrition in Coimbatore, 2012.
Dr. Joseph has also mentored 7 PhD students to completion as a Research Guide at Kerala University. She has more than 65 publications in National and International journals and has contributed to the IDF Guidebook for children with Diabetes. Her research interests include Clinical Nutrition, Community Nutrition, and Sports Nutrition.
