Professor Sarah Wild

Professor Sarah Wild completed her medical training in London and Cambridge, followed by postgraduate experience in general medicine and diabetes, general practice, and public health medicine. She also undertook a cardiovascular epidemiology fellowship at Stanford University and earned a PhD at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Since 2002, Sarah has been a Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Edinburgh and an honorary consultant in public health with Lothian NHS Board and Public Health Scotland.

Her main research interests include the epidemiology and prevention of diabetes and other non-communicable diseases, with a focus on health inequalities and leveraging routine data for impactful research.
