Prof. Alvin Powers is the Joe C. Davis Chair in Biomedical Science, Medicine, and Molecular Physiology and Biophysics Professor at Vanderbilt University, where he also served as the Director of the Division of Diabetes and Endocrinology.

Angus Jones is a Professor of Diabetes at the University of Exeter and an Honorary Consultant Physician at the Royal Devon University Hospitals NHS Trust. His research interests are in precision approaches to the management of diabetes, with a focus on practical approaches that can impact clinical practice now or in the near future.

Professor Azad Khan is the Regional Chair of the International Diabetes Federation's Southeast Asia region, the President of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh (BADAS), and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bangladesh University of Health Sciences.

Dr. Balamurugan, an “isletologist” for the past 30 years, Dr. Balamurugan’s (Bala) research career has focused on advancing pancreatic islet cell isolation and transplantation for the treatment of type-I diabetes and surgery-induced diabetes.

Professor Charlotte M. Bavuma is an Associate Professor of IM/Endocrinology and the Deputy Dean for Postgraduate studies and research at the University of Rwanda. She is a Board member of Rwanda Biomedical Centre, the Nation's central health implementation center.

Prof. David Phillips is an Emeritus Professor of Medicine at the University of Southampton, UK. He is also an Honorary Consultant Physician in Endocrinology and Diabetes at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust. He has a background as an academic physician specializing in endocrinology with a specific focus on the epidemiological aspects of endocrine disorders.

Dr. Kibirige is a Consultant Physician, Diabetologist, and Endocrinologist in the Department of Medicine, Uganda Martyrs Hospital Lubaga, and a Fellow of the College of Physicians of Eastern, Central, and Southern Africa.

Dr. Debbie Thompson is a Senior Research Fellow and Coordinator of the PhD Nutrition Program at the Caribbean Institute of Health Research, University of West Indies, Jamaica. In 2017, she was awarded a 2-year Academic Fellowship in Global Child Health at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.

Dr. Dirk Lund Christensen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Public Health at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and a former employee at the MRC Epidemiology Unit at the University of Cambridge, UK. His research interests include the diagnosis of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases in different populations exposed to malnutrition, infections, and other adverse environmental parameters.

Gordon Thomas is a paediatric general and transplant surgeon working at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in Sydney, Australia. He has led the paediatric transplant and general surgical unit at Westmead for several years. Gordon has been recognized for his significant contributions to the care of children in New South Wales and has been awarded for both his clinical work and leadership.

Prof. Kaushik Ramaiya is a Consultant Physician in Internal Medicine / Endocrinology and Chief Executive Officer at Shree Hindu Mandal Hospital of Tanzania. He is also a Member of the Board of the World Diabetes Foundation, the Hon. General Secretary of the Tanzania Diabetes Association, the Tanzania NCD Alliance, and the Association of Private Health Facilities of Tanzania.

Prof. Mandeep Bajaj is the current President of Medicine and Science of the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Prof. Bajaj is also the Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Medicine and a Professor of Medicine and Molecular and Cellular Biology at Baylor College of Medicine.

Prof. Meredith Hawkins holds the Harold and Muriel Block Chair in Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she founded and directs the Global Diabetes Institute (GDI). Einstein’s GDI has developed many research collaborations in LMICs to investigate forms of diabetes endemic to these areas.

Professor Michael Boyne is a leader of the Endocrine program at the Tropical Metabolism Research Unit and former Chairman of Medicine at the University of the West Indies (Jamaica). He is a Professor of Endocrinology & Metabolism at the Department of Medicine at the University of the West Indies and an Honorary Consultant at the University Hospital of the West Indies.

Professor Md. Faruque Pathan is the Director of BIRDEM Academy and a Professor of Endocrinology at BIRDEM General Hospital. He is also an affiliate of the Endocrinology Department at Ibrahim Memorial Diabetes Center.

Dr. Noel Somasundaram is a Chief Consultant Endocrinologist at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka. He was the President of the South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies from 2019 to 2021, the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Diabetes Federation, and the Project Lead for the Sri Lanka Diabetes and Cardiovascular Initiative, a national project for preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases.

Prof. Peter Schwarz is the President of the International Diabetes Federation and the Head of the Division for Prevention and Care of Diabetes at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes. He specializes in the prevention and care of diabetes.

Prof. Katulanda is the President-Elect of the Ceylon College of Physicians and a Council Member of the Sri Lanka College of Endocrinologists and the Sri Lanka Diabetes Federation. He is also a Professor of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and a professor/consultant at the National Hospital in Sri Lanka.

Professor Robin Maskey is Professor of Internal Medicine, Chair of Fellowship of Endocrinology at B.P.K.I.H.S. He graduated from medical school at the MCOMS (Kathmandu University) NEPAL,MD Internal Medicine from BPKIHS and received post-graduate training in NUHS,Singapore and Fellowship in Endocrinology in INDIA.

Dr. Shahjada Selim is an associate professor in the Department of Endocrinology at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr. Selim has been awarded by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, AACE, with the Best Research Article Presentation 2015 .

Sarah Wild did her medical training in London and Cambridge. Her postgraduate experience included general medicine and diabetes, general practice and public health medicine, a cardiovascular epidemiology fellowship at Stanford University, and a PhD at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Shitaye Alemu Balcha is an Associate Professor in Internal Medicine at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Gondar, Ethiopia. She is an expert in non-communicable diseases, particularly diabetes in rural areas.

Prof. Silver Bahendeka is a professor of Medicine and Endocrinology at Mother Kevin Post Graduate Medical School, Uganda Martyrs University, Kampala, Uganda. He is also a Senior Consultant Physician for Diabetes and Endocrinology at St Francis Hospital, Nsambya in Kampala, Uganda.

Prof. K. Sreekumaran Nair is a Professor of Medicine and Consultant Endocrinologist in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Nutrition, and Metabolism at the Mayo Clinic. His exceptional research contributions have been recognized by the Mayo Clinic by honoring him as an Outstanding Mentor, Distinguished Investigator and named Endowed Professorship.

Sylvia Kehlenbrink is the Director of Global Endocrinology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and teaches at Harvard Medical School. She leads the NCDs in Conflict Program at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, focusing on diabetes care and insulin access in low- and middle-income areas.

Zoë Mullan presently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Lancet Global Health Journal and is also the Inclusion and Diversity Lead. She is an Ex-Officio Board Member of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health and a Scientific Advisory Board member of the Centre for International Health Protection at the Robert Koch Institute, Berlin.

Dr. William Cefalu is the director of the NIH’s Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolic Diseases. From 2017 to 2019, he served as the chief scientific, medical, and Mission Officer at the American Diabetes Association.
